Gene tries his very best to embody an old-timey dandy, with a slightly extravagant style at times, and usually a nonchalant attitude paired with his best attempts at being suave and charming. Simply because he enjoys doing that, mostly. Aside from those appearances, however, Gene is actually quite calculating, he likes to watch things unfold and influencing them where he can while staying out of the actual happenings. He claims he uses what he sees as inspiration, but he enjoys more so being in the know without necessarily being known.

× Harmony-born and raised, Gene spent a good chunk of his life in town and regularly returns to visit his parents (separately, since they split once Gene had gone off to college).
× Left for college, for an art degree, and spent a lot of time jobbing, until with the help of a friend, he started a successful business venture and started actually earning money.
× Quite successfully so, actually; while thanks to his parents he had never been badly off, Gene came into proper money that way.
× To this day, Gene quite often returns to do his paintings in the family home and the city's surroundings, where he tends to keep paintings as well.
× When not doing that, he gives art lessons at a college in Charlesville.
× Gene is a bit of a bon vivant; his favorite book happens to be The Picture of Dorian Gray, and it's not that hard to guess why. Surprisingly, while he does enjoy his few luxuries and definitely a well-cut suit, he enjoys spending money on other people more.
× Hence, Gene usually doesn't have a hard time making quick friends, though few for the long haul.
× Proclaimed bachelor--the bane of his visits home is his mother worrying that he'll never settle down and bless him with grandchildren.
× Loves his hometown--loves having moved out just a little bit more.
× Hasn't been to Harmony in two years, and picked a particularly great time to show up again.
